From its founding in 1860, and throughout the years, the legend of Panerai has grown exponentially. Still headquartered in Florence, Italy, this storied and historic brand continues its evolution with a recent selection of critically acclaimed in house movements. As the official supplier of watches to the Italian navy during the war, Panerai has carried their celebrated case shapes to the present era. At the start, Panerai constructed their durable cases, while purchasing movements from the likes of Rolex and others. Today, the factory located in Neuchatel, Switzerland is the production facility for all of their rugged timepieces with the new Manifattura, and other high grade watch movements.

Panerai timepieces are available in four different lines; Historic, Contemporary, Manifattura, and Special Editions. Produced in limited yearly runs, all watches are etched with the serial/ issue number on the back of the case for identification and dating. Some Panerai models, such as the PAM 127 1950, nicknamed “Fiddy”, sell at a premium over the issue price. As an investment that you can wear, Panerai, along with just a small handful of other makes, hold their value over the years and are durable enough to pass down through the generations.
